James A. Masias, Chief Executive
Mr. Masias has a background in finance, accounting, technology, business operations and consulting. James has significant experience in for-profit and non-profit accounting, including telecommunications, technology, public school finance, government agencies, start-up enterprises and investment banking.
He’s also been the CFO for two major public school systems and one privately-held company, where he directed all Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Payroll, Cash Management, Procurement/Purchasing, Financial Systems, and Retirement Plans.
Early in his career he helped direct and manage the $1 billion financial plan for Qwest Information Technologies. While there he built and managed the corporate-wide business valuation team designed to evaluate and approve proposed information technology investments. While the CFO at San Diego Unified he was instrumental in securing financing for the district’s special financing of $38.84 million general obligation QSCB election of Series 2008B tax-credit bonds. The innovative financing package was awarded the Far West Deal of the Year award by Bond Buyer Magazine.
He received his MBA and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, finance emphasis from Regis University. He also has a Master’s of Public Administration from the University of Colorado.
